API Freshwater Aquarium Salt is specially made salt for freshwater fish tanks. It is particularly useful when setting up a new aquarium for freshwater fish. API freshwater salt keeps fish health at optimal by providing essential electrolytes. This freshwater salt lowers the risk of osmotic shock by supplying natural electrolytes through the chloride cells in the gills. By improving gill functionality, API Freshwater Aquarium salt helps promote faster fish disease recovery. 

API Freshwater Aquarium Salt is enriched with all-natural electrolytes. It contains calcium chloride, calcium sulfate, Magnesium Chloride, Magnesium sulfate, Potassium chloride, and sodium chloride. Aquarium salt is not just table salt but all natural salt made from evaporated seawater. This evaporated seawater contains electrolytes that are necessary for freshwater fish. Moreover, it will temporarily block nitrite toxicity (caused due to overcrowding and overfeeding) from entering the gills.
